We’ve received a lot of emails asking about preparation for Irene down at South Street. As far as the vessels are concerned, the situation is rather fluid. We have heard that the Schooners are heading north toward Kingston early Saturday morning, but we do not know all the facts.
Save Our Seaport has made several offers over the last few days to jump in and help with every resource we can muster, but we were turned down.
Several people have sent us worrisome photos, showing a lack of readiness.
Wavertree must have lines extended to Pier 15. She should not be attached only to the spud barge.
