Seaport Volunteer Meeting and City Of Water Day

There are two events coming up this week, and we hope you can join us for both…

This Wednesday, July 11th, there will be a Volunteer Meeting at the Museum. Details from Waterfront Director Jonathan Boulware:

“We’ve made a great deal of progress since late last year when we restarted work on the waterfront. Nonetheless many challenges remain and we’ve a great deal yet to do. Please join us for a meeting and discussion of projects, goals, and volunteerism on the waterfront going forward. July 11th at 6pm at South Street Seaport Museum. RSVP to, please.”

Saturday, July 14th, is City Of Water Day. Like last year, Save Our Seaport will have a presence on Governors Island, but this time we’ll be sharing a table with the South Street Seaport Museum. There will be other tables nearby from related organizations, such as the Historic Ships Coalition, the National Lighthouse Museum, and the Steamship Lilac.

We need to staff our table, and hope to help some of the other organizations as well. If we have 8-10 volunteers, we can do two-hour shifts and everyone will still have plenty of time to enjoy the day and the event. City Of Water Day runs from 10am-4pm. If you are available any part of the day, please email us at!
